This is a revamp of my Luxicast Empire story. The core plot of that story was a medieval fantasy setting with gods and powerful mortals working together to fight evil. I look back on the old me (which probably never left tbh) and I’m perplexed why they complained about their lore being so confusing all the time.
This is far from my second, third, or fourth time doing a rehaul of that story. I’ve abandoned building up that fantasy world for a year or two and now I miss it. Anyway, here it is :)

I use playlists to help me map out the plot of my stories. I’ll be using the songs to explain everything.

My Luxicast setting was always centered around three (half) siblings with godlike abilities passed down by their father and their respective mothers. Their powers took inspiration from Greco-Roman/Hellenistic pantheons and…. shudders astrology (I would combine the names of gods that each planet took after and their astrological meanings). They were referred to by their subjects as “living gods.” Each child received varying degrees of affection from their father, if any at all.
I’ve changed it so that they share the same father AND mother instead of the father having multiple “lovers.” Their father was a famed warrior while their mother was a godlike being—not on the same level as Olympian Gods, but similar to aasimars from D&D. I haven’t decided what their relationship is like yet, but each child received their mother’s godliness and rule over Luxicast together.
Their mother is also an avian, a trait which all her children received. Each of them keeps her feathers on them; Aurelia* has one tied to each of her weapons, Aaru* uses them as quills for writing, Royal* wears them as accessories, especially in her hair.
*These are all placholder names!!!
High aspirations can lead people to dangerous places. This is true for everyone, but is most commonly seen among scholars and artists.
The Idol of Creation has great powers. He has granted immortality to a select few, mostly lovers or anyone worthy/necessary to rule and command alongside the siblings. He is the only one out of his siblings with this ability, granting it through a number of methods. One being immortalizing someone through paintings, sculptures, etc.
The only downside was that while you would remain forever the age you were at the time of immortalization, your soul would be reflected in your portrait/sculpture/other artwork; if the artwork was ever destroyed, you would don the new appearance as punishment. So, if you gained immortality and did nothing but evil throughout godhood, your portrait reflects that. Aaru could tear up your portrait and you’d look horrifying.

Odile was very dissatisfied with her mortality and sought after the siblings’ godhood in the name of “ambition.” An entity of higher power reached out from beyond the heavens and took advantage of Odile’s “ambition” to fulfill their plan of taking down each of the siblings by absorbing their souls and magic, petrifying them.
Together, they struck down Aurelia and her legions, then Aaru and his [muses]. Royal got word of these attacks and fortified her [kingdom] in preparation to evacuate her people and herself.
For decades, Royal and Odile have been hunting each other down. The former to put an end to their chaos and destruction and bring everything back to how it was, the latter to finally strike down Royal and take full potential of the power promised to them. In the meantime, Odile would build an army of [undead] with their newfound ability to [absorb souls and take control of their bodies], as Royal would reverse/prevent them from doing so.
